Time and time again riots of emotion and societal uprisings are paired with a soundtrack to timeline our past. Child of sweat, adversity and laughter; Ashley Zarah was brought into the musical realm to keep this tradition running into the next generation. As a young kid who struggled with finding a group and culture to identify with, Ashley Zarah decided to invent a space of her own. Now she's scattered from her home on the West Coast to the Eastside, riddling Boston with words and melodies the local music scene calls captivating and chillingly intimate. Currently recording an EP set out to be released in June, she has worked as a prolific songwriter in her hometown of Los Angeles and now in Boston while attending the highly prestigious Berklee College of Music. There is a boundless history of displacement, revolution and the catharsis of art - some may say it heals and unites, but further than that, it stitches wounds so that we may be reminded of the fights we've lost and the rocks we held onto to stand up again. Ashley Zarah converts those callouses into a distinct poetry we cannot forget.
