The band was formed at the end of the 90's. My own parasite released their first album "I AM" in 2004, produced by Plumbea Records. The first composition of the band was: Alessandro Rinaldi, guitar, Stefano Rossello- actual leader of the industrial band Bahntier- bass, Carlo Marrone, guitar, Christian Battiferro, drums. "I AM" is post rock album, almost instrumental, defined "a very good work, well played and arranged and with the right dose of madness" by the Rumore's critic Emanuele Salvini. The very famous web-zine Rockon says that Mop "are perfect, good musicians, able to change the rhythms of their songs. Their debut is an hymn of the italian post rock. We can say that with My own parasite we find the by now lost Slint". During the live performance of this period, there were video projections and slide installations made by Greg The band started a collaboration with Toni D'Angelo, help director of the cult director Abel Ferrara ("Kings of New York" and "The Addiction"). Mop made the soundtracks of Toni D'Angelo shortfilms in which they play other instruments, like trumpet for example, and they experiment in the composition, passing through electronic and jazz. In these experiences they also work with other musicians like Irene Salis, a jazz singer who's now working in New York. Toni D'Angelo made the videoclip "I AM" for the band, included in "I AM". At the end of this experience Mop released "The killer Elite" EP, published by Plumbea Records in 2006
