This album is a roller coaster ride of song and music. Some of the fan favorites are the more fun/pub rock songs with some corky lyrics like "Dave's Triumph" about space invaders who came to take over this planet, but they meet Dave, he gets them drunk, and the leave this planet forgetting what they came here to do in the first place. Dave and his booze save the day. After the songwriter's summer trip to Paris (the beautiful city of lights and of romance, which we all love). We do love the city, however, the writer discovered that some Parisian's in particular where not the kindest of people and he did get into a fight with one (this Parisian was actually quite smelly during the hot summer). So, the writer recommends that this smelly gentleman use that world famous perfume and "Slap It On". Some songs are introspective, some are a little more day dreamy and imaginative. We even have a college bar sing-a-long jam with tongue and cheek lyrics, "Hey Ladies". "Too Scared" is a cool jazzy rock songs that really Rocks some cool guitars! With songs like "Red Rocks" and "Morse Code" you are thrown into an alt avant garde rock avalanche of musical progressions that invoke intense mental imagery through the parade of sounds and feeling. The album opens with a country rock song "Another Day Without You" which is a sweet little gem. The "Great Escape" is dedicated to many who have were lost in those orange skies and purple clouds. Most songs where recorded live in studio, banging out a couple of songs per day. The details in the guitar work, superior bass prowess, and master drums really stand out in each track. * Songs on this album written between 1997 and 2002. "When I Was Young" was written in 2015.
