Suzy Snowflake is the debut single from Val Williams' "Songs For Young Whippersnappers", a collection of classic American songs, reimagined for children! With smooth vocals, incredible musicians, and a solid dose of fun, these all new, original arrangements bring classic tunes from iconic artists to life. From Burt Bacharach and The Mamas and The Papas to 1940s Jazz and 1950's Rock and Roll, this album seamlessly blends styles and decades to bring you an album that every generation can love! A New York City based singer/actress/writer, Val Williams has traveled the world performing for over 20 years. Originally from Pittsburgh, PA, Val is a graduate of the prestigious College Conservatory of Music at The University of Cincinnati with a BFA in Musical Theater. After graduating, Val branched out from the world of Musicals to sing with Symphonies, Funk Bands, a USO-inspired girl trio, and more across the US and abroad. At times a struggling artist in NYC who once had as many as 4 jobs at once, Val found herself drawn to teaching and writing as ways to make ends meet and has spent over 10 years working with children in tandem to performing. It was through her work with children in Early Childhood programs that she decided to develop this collection of songs and arrangements into an album of music for kids (of all ages!). Grandma may know the song because she danced to it in the 1950s, Dad may remember it from some old commercial, and now grandbaby can grow to love these new, fun arrangements of classic songs! In addition to the music, Songs For Young Whippersnappers will be developed into a diverse project with a variety of educational angles. From companion YouTube videos to downloadable curriculum and a LIVE SHOW, the history of these songs and the diversity of genres represented make this album an investment, not just easy listening!
