Squeeky Plus was born on May 11,1978 as Kegry Murphy in St.Thomas, Jamaica. St.Thomas, an area not exactly noted for a fertile reggae scene, and miles away from major recording studios and recording labels in Kingston. Nevertheless, Squeeky was determined to become an international dancehall/reggae artist. At the young age of nine ,Squeeky remembers going to a concert featuring notorious reggae artists, Capelton and Ninjaman and he became fascinated by the Sound System Dj’s and the excitement and the vibes that the crowed was returning. He started performing at the tender ages of Ten, where he did local concert and talent shows in his community in Jamaica. That’s how Squeeky Gains his experience in performing on stage. “ When I touch the stage I feel joy, and when you know the people are feeling you as a entertainer and they like what I am saying, that’s happiness to me.” he explains. His music is influence by many reggae artist such as, Bushman , Bob Marley, and elephant man , Sean Paul just to name a few. After doing local concerts in his community, Squeeky migrated to the United States in the summer of 2000. Migrating to the United Stated didn’t stop him at all, it only influence even more. Squeeky stormed through the door of dancehall/reggae, back in 2001, where he formed a group called “So Poor” which consists of him and another member , Juvignzalez where they performed on a wide range of events doing opening shows for artists such as Sean Paul ,Mr. Vegas,Tanto Metro and Devonte, Risco Bengie, Slogie ranks just to name a few. It didn’t stop their, after the “So Poor” group ended in 2003. Squeeky formed another group in 2004, which was also consists of him and another member named Yankee, where they also performed in concerts with known artist Sizzla. “Girl You a Di Hottest Ting Around” with Mr. Vince from 96.1/105.1 was one of the early highlights of squeaky Plus young career. Instead of glorifying crimes in his music, Squeeky Plus dedicates to being a positive role model for the youth to follow. “I have been through it, but I don’t have to talk about it, I don’t have to talk about the past, it doesn’t make you a better person… As an artist you are the center… I want to be someone that the youths of tomorrow can look up to” , he stated. With his vibrant and out going demeanor and a unforgettable stage presence have all transformed this St.Thomas native into what he is right know. Squeeky Plus music is all about feeling good, his free spirited vibration leave you eager to do nothing less than to let loose and party. In his up coming album, Squeeky collaborates with a local artist , champagne ,the single is called “Lets Dance”, This single can be describe as a high tempo, with a catchy hook, and it is sure to have the listener partying and letting loose. “This track is perfect for the dancehall…. On this track I want my listener to take their minds off the problems there are facing, no cursing, no guns, just pure and simple fun,” he explained. He also collaborate with the producer of his album Billy Badass, on one of his track, also off his upcoming album, “Here For You”, Here in this track he deejays about hardships many couple faces and the work it takes to maintain a serious relationship. He explains, “The grass is not always greener on the other side; we have to make good with what you have, and move on together in life”. This single was the opening and closing song at the 2007 International Reggae World Music Awards, which was held at the Apollo Theater, in New York City. Squeeky Plus music brings a new innovative flavor to the dancehall/reggae scene. With one of his single off his upcoming album receiving world wide recognition and praise from his critics, Squeeky is on his way. “With perseverance and determination you can become successful in whatever career you choose….And I hope over the next couple of years my drive pays off and I am on the top of the charts”.
