The album features traditional Irish music from an expanded lineup of musicians playing a dizzying array of instruments, all displayed on the cover. On a Lark explores the musical traditions of Ireland, with brief stops in Scotland and Newfoundland along the way. Modern compositions are woven together with songs from 1549, and all are arranged and performed with innovation and enthusiasm that few can match. Rinn has been playing in various combinations, and under various names, for over a decade. The ensemble combines the rich musical experiences of Kevin Naughten (Flute, Whistles, Uilleann Pipes), Kaitlin Alexander (Flute), Selena Botelho (Fiddle), Tom Naughten (Bodhran), Mitchell Sebastian (Guitar), Liam Naughten (Bass, Mandolin, Button Accordion, Vocals) and Robbie Rozgonyi (Vocals, Piano). Rinn plays all over the city of Winnipeg: at events like Folklorama and IrishFest, at venues such as coffee shops and restaurants, at celebrations like birthday parties, and at corporate functions, outdoor festivals and community fundraisers.
