In 2014, Amy took her first trip to the US/Mexican border to learn first hand about issues of immigration. After a week spent in the Tucson/Nogales corridor, Amy returned to her home state of Virginia heartbroken from learning about unidentified border crosser deaths. To now know that on average in any given year over 100 bodies are found in the Arizona desert is devastating knowledge. Desert Bones explores the question of what to do with a broken heart, especially in light of a changed worldview. We cannot un-see what we have seen. And we cannot un-know what we now know.
