简介
Occasionally you come across an artist that knows how powerful their music can be and what that music can do to those who are listening. This is true for the Toronto duo HolloH. Their latest EP comes to us at Downpour Recordings with an abundance of true house music. Colourblind is a special double sided EP that features music that goes blends the familiar with the unknown. The first track on this EP, the main gem itself, "Colourblind", is a tune that really needs no further explanation other than noting that it is worth its weight in musical gold. Colourblind opens with a traditional four-to-the-floor percussion pattern, that classic intro that is perfect for blending alongside your mix. It quickly drops itself into a track that has a soothing vocal coupling next to a chugging baseline with a sexy pad ridding over top. After the break, Colourblind's drop finds the listener stuck in awe at the starry-eyed synth line that HolloH introduces. The second track, "What Did You Think" is almost a self explanatory beast. She's a track that is far heavier in her introduction, a heaviness that stays with the track throughout her duration, but one that soon becomes connected with a softening vocal and melodically genius synth line. This track is a combination of the dark pushing against the light and vice-versa. Heavy low end, beautiful mids and aesthetically pleasing highs. What Did You Think will do exactly as its title suggest.
