简介
John Legend taps down south rapper Ludacris for his new song, 'Tonight (Best You Ever Had),' which lands on the upcoming film soundtrack for 'Think Like a Man,' starring Chris Brown. The track from the 33-year-old soul crooner, who's releasing a new album in the months to come, dropped Wednesday (Jan. 25). On the song, which opens up with Legend cooing over a minimal drum pattern, the Ohio native flirts with a woman who's caught his corporal desires. "Ain't this what you came for/ Don't you wish you came more/ Girl what you playin' for/ Come on, come on let me kiss that/ Ooh I know you miss that/ What' wrong, let me fix that/ Twist that," he sings as the beat progresses into a finger-snapping tune. The G.O.O.D. Music signee opts to lose control with his lady and delivers a sentiment that would either throw her into a frenzy or a fit. "I don't want to brag but I'll be the best you ever had." Ludacris adds a verse, serving up comedic lines like "'cause seven days a week you're my five-course meal." The singer's fourth studio album, currently untitled, is set to debut in Spring 2012, and will feature production from Kanye West, Bink and Paul Epworth, and co-writing credits from Dan Wilson, according to Billboard.com. Producer Dave Tozer, whose worked with Legend on his first LP, 'Get Lifted' -- songs like 'I Can Change' and 'Stay With You' -- and his last solo album, 2008's 'Evolver,' revealed what listeners can expect from the new project. "Thematically, it's a little darker and less resolved in terms of asking a lot of questions and not having answers," Tozer explained. "The overall sound is much darker on a lot of it, too.." Songs 'On Fire,' 'She Did It All,' 'Hello My Heart,' 'Star' and 'Gotta Getter Back' are all set to appear on the forthcoming LP.
