The past two years for Richard Archon have been a progression of successes, one after the other. As an artist Richard Archon is becoming a well recognized name throughout Toronto and abroad. Having played at some of the most acknowledged venues in his city, from the critically acclaimed Coda to the local speakeasy, Parlour, he is a man whos fanbase is progressing him into stardom. After securing releases on both international and local record labels the Toronto native joins us at Downpour Recordings with a three track melodic EP. Inspired by the ideologies found in everevolving deep house sounds Richards Bellary EP is a testament to the natural way in which he views the world through sound. The Bellary EP comes from the heart and soul of Richard, being a testament to his skills as both a producer and DJ. It is an EP that speaks to and of the essence of three small cities found on our beautiful planet, Bellary, Kollam and Rovigno. The first track on the EP, dubbed Bellary, is a melodic adventure through space and time, binding itself on the cusp of both worlds. With dubby rhythmic elements conjoining themselves alongside melodic keys and a progressive baseline that draws its listening in and out of the body. It is through Richards implementation of sound and rhythm that this record breaths like the city he wrote it for. Next up is Kollam. This she begins herself with the same spacey feel as Bellary, however Richard morphs the essence of Kollam into something far more emotional and expansive than its predecessor. With a slowly bouncing baseline eating into the hightoned keys, Kollam matches the seaside town in Southern India that Richard sets this piece in. The Bellary EP is concludes itself with Rovigno. Like the two which he begins the EP with this record starts on the dubby note but instantly evolves itself into something much more. Being a city on the Adriatic sea, Richard has found a way to match the sonic qualities of his record to that town.
