简介

Native Chicagoan Caroline Ferrante studied theater and voice at Northwestern University, and drove a tractor on her grandfather's farm every summer in Great Bend, Kansas. She has worked with the Goodman Theater in Chicago, and the Frederick Arts Council in Frederick, Maryland. Caroline also writes original children’s musicals. Caroline broke into the acoustic music scene in September 2011. Her stunning vocals, three-octave range, signature 12-string guitar, and crossover songwriting were quickly featured in S.A.W. (Songwriter Association of Washington) songwriter showcases at the Frederick Coffeehouse and Brewers Alley in Frederick, Maryland, and The Athenaeum Museum in Alexandria, Virginia. Her solo career blossomed after she opened for the Birds of Chicago at the Arts Barn Songwriter Showcase in December 2012. Soon after, she was featured at the Dewey Beach Music Festival in Delaware and Daisy Duke’s in Nashville, Tennessee. As Caroline’s songwriting evolved, she gathered a unique musical ensemble to give voice to her originals. The Whole Magilla is one part 'folked-up' Americana, one part Chicago blues, and a hint of hootenanny bluegrass. Since their start in November 2013, they have been showcased at The Old Town Theater in Alexandria, Virginia, The O Street Mansion in Washington, DC, Greensboro, North Carolina’s WQFS 90.9, and the History Channel’s "American Pickers" Antique Archaeology in Nashville. “Caroline Ferrante....(a) deep and amazing experience." Hanna Politis - Owner - Beans in the Belfry, Brunswick, MD "AWESOME Band!" Brian Z - WQFS Epicuria Radio 90.9, Greensboro, NC “There aren't many people whose musical acumen can pull off just a vox and guitar and make it memorable and impressive. Go no further than here for a wonderful example. ...” Living Waters - Reverbnation "Caroline Ferrante... fills venues, always determined to entertain with songs ranging from originals to a Sam Cooke R&B classic to the tenderness of a Nanci Griffith song... " Black Rock Center for the Arts, Germantown, MD
