For Fright Teck Pictures' "Scarred", composer Ash Katt was given a unique challenge. Says Katt: "Eddie (director Eddie Lengyel) is quite fond of the score to the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie and, if you give that a listen you'll notice that it's almost entirely ambient percussion, with a great deal of cymbal and gong swells." So Katt to to the task of applying that to his usual lush, ethereal approach. The result is a score like no other, Haunting, eerily atmospheric, at times spine-tingling with only a few occasional nods to past horror movie classics. "His melodic symphonies and gothic undertones, really put the icing on the cake with the Incredible score he produced for Scarred," says Lengyel. Ash Katt was born in Akron, Ohio. He has spent the greater part of his life studying music and much of his adulthood travelling the world in search of truth, inspiration and nice people. His love of music was long frustrated by physical challenges that limited his potential. However, the discovery of modern music production software has liberated him from those restraints and he has entered into a prolific and rewarding era.
