Undulate Recordings is the newest label to surface out of NYC. As the brainchild of longtime NYC DJs Billy Disciple and Deepspell (aka Al Alvarez), Undulate is born from the pedigree bloodlines of two artists who have been respected and revered staples in the New York underground for more than a decade. The imprint's debut release comes from one of the mad scientist's behind the Undulate operation; as Al Alvarez debuts under his new Data Vault guise and delivers "Need You". Held together by a soiree of organic percussion and rising chords, "Need You" wastes no time in making it's intentions clear: it's all about that New York groove, baby. Things come to a climax as Data Vault crafts a dazzling breakdown/buildup, leading up to that all-important "hands in the air moment" to seal the deal. "Need You" is sure to have many dancefloors burning up this spring. As if that weren't enough, Undulate enlisted the duties of veteran house hero Terry Lee Brown, Jr to undertake the remix of "need You"; and Mr. Brown delivered an absolute gem. Utilizing the tune's catchy vocal and deep chords to maximum effect, TLB dubs things down and takes us on a sub-aquatic journey deep into his creative vortex. Though deep in it's nature, TLB's remix commands the power needed to keep any room under control and can easily serve as a powerful DJ tool or as a secret weapon; sure to inject a dose of deep -n- dubby goodness into any dancefloor.
