Astrid's voice is an alluring combination of soul, R&B, pop, powerhouse in her sound. A vocal range just over 3 octaves presenting an effortless yet an accuracy in her attempt of notes. Astrid is a another young soul who's talents stems right from her childhood with the influence of her musical family. Since the age of 3 years, Astrid would "pling plong" on the piano as quoted by her mother. "Even at the age of three, although the notes didn't make much sense, you could tell that this one had the musical gene" says Mrs Ripepi. Compositions began from a young age on the piano flowing into written melodies she would sing. Soon Astrid taught herself to accompany herself while lead singing to a song. "Music is a very personal thing, I literally feel like I'm handing you a piece of heart when I tell my stories through my music. All of my songs are reflections of real experiences that have occurred in my life. Everything i've written so far are true stories" says Astrid. Some of Astrid's favourite artist are Jill Scott, Conya Doss, John Legend, Robert Glasper, Hiromi, Snarky Puppy & Erykah Badu to name a few, where a lot of her influences also stem from.
