A self-taught musician and songwriter whose hypnotic musical interpretations have been influenced by the stylings of premiere bassists such as Andrew Gouche, Marcus Miller, Joel Smith, and Victor Wooten – Matt’s performance will leave little room for disappointment. As humble as he is talented, Matt’s passion and ability have afforded him the opportunity to play for events featuring nationally recognized gospel artists and evangelists such as Bishop George Bloomer, Juanita Bynum, Dorinda Clark-Cole, Men of Standard’s Lowell Pye,Tonéx, and Timothy Wright – as well as gospel music legends O’landa Draper and Calvin Lennox. Rather the bass is fretted or fretless, he has been called ‘a monster’ on four, five, and six string electric and acoustic guitars. He records, composes, and performs music through the use of digital technology. In 2005, Matt independently released his freshman instrumental gospel project Searching. The artistry behind his work is often infused with overtones of jazz, blues, funk, and Latin rhythms and probes deep into the soul of the listener. This EP is the evolution of gospel, jazz, and funk previously released that is now been honed to a mature sound listeners will forever appreciate!
