Cerulean: derived from the Latin word caeruleus, "dark blue, blue or blue-green," which in turn derives from caelulum, diminutive of caelum, "heaven, sky." Growing up among the San Juan Islands of Washington State, Rhonda Davis composed music as a young child, and at 12 years of age a special gift changed her life. "My parents bought me an old upright piano that I have with me today. I found that I could instinctively play by ear and translate my soul's innermost visions and prayers to the keys." Through the years her music has grown in sophistication, reflecting the transitions of her life...yet still the "child soul" is heard. From her poignant "Butterfly Babies" to "Anacortes," inspired by idyllic summers riding her horse through island meadows, to the hauntingly beautiful "My Son Mohammad," you will feel the sensitive inspirations of her soul.
