简介
Nikita Jones started playing guitar at age seven, though he was a drummer in his first band. Playing clubs with a hard rock set, and periodically changing guitar line up. Oddly enough, Jones eventually moved onto vocals in the indie screamo scene, while still playing drums, and sometimes keyboard. Before long, Jones began writing his own songs to play at his band's intermission. The songs were always softer and drew good reviews from the college rock crowds he was used to playing to. Before long his band broke up, and Jones decided to start his own, this time playing guitar and providing lead vocals. He fronted the band "Falling Forever" based out of Corbin, KY. The three piece band garnered local success, but it was limited by the small town. A few tours in the Nashville area proved useful, but didn't gross enough to earn gas money back. In the end, the band got attention from a major label, but due to internal conflicts, the band didn't sign into a deal. Moving into the coastal carolinas, Jones decided to pursue a solo career on the side of being a full time police officer in a small town. The first release, "Less than Nothing" sold moderately well for an indie album, with 90% of sales coming from online sources such as iTunes, and all sales being word of mouth, since Jones didn't have time to tour effectively. Jones, who still has a day job, began writing for "Welcome to Peril" 4 years ago. And instead of waiting for a full album to come to fruition this time, has decided to release it as an EP. On the EP, Jones had to say, "I'm excited to release Peril, because it's been a long time coming. The oldest song on the record I wrote 7 years ago, and the newest one I wrote last year, so it's a wide range of different things I have been feelings." The two singles off the record, "Daniel", and "Jump" garnered good attention from indie critics in recent months.
