Violin / Angela Inkyung Sohn Born in Seoul, Korea, Angela Inkyung Sohn was raised and educated in Hong Kong and entered Stanford University at the age of 16. She was the first Korean to receive the Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the Yale School of Music. Angela Inkyung Sohn is a member of the Soma Trio (Prizewinners of the '93 Ye-um Chamber Music Award) and the Korea Festival Ensemble. Her performing career, as both soloist and chamber musician, has taken her to Japan, Singapore, China, Spain, Germany, Scotland, Canada, U.S. and Russia as well as cities throughout Korea. She has appeared as soloist with the KBS Symphony Orchestra, Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra and the St. Petersburg State TV and Radio Orchestra and has recorded for KBS FM's "Korean Musicians" series. Her recordings with the Soma Trio include "Reminiscence" (Sony/BMG) as well as two albums of Christian Contemporary Music. Currently she teaches at Yonsei University and the Korean National University of Arts. (Track 04,09,10) Onnuri Sarang Chamber Orchestra / Sarang Plus Sarang Plus is a group of classically-trained professional musicians who volunteer to teach the students in the Onnuri Sarang Chamber Orchestra. Established by violinist Angela Inkyung Sohn, the Onnuri Sarang Chamber Orchestra began in 1999 as a modest "Onnuri Music Room for the Disabled" and has now grown into a full chamber orchestra comprising fifty students with mental disabilities. The Onnuri Sarang Chamber Orchestra has performed at hospitals, senior welfare and rehabilitation centers, as well as numerous churches and charity concerts throughout Korea and has also been invited to perform in the United States and Hong Kong.
