简介

Miguel Barron - Vocals/Bass Mat Arluck - Guitar/Vocals Dave Conrad - Skins Deminer revives an all-but-forgotten classic hardcore sound, the brawny broad-shouldered punk of Eighties Chicago bands like Naked Raygun, the Effigies, and Bhopal Stiffs. I'm old enough to have seen (and loved) all of those bands, but for you young'uns who think Screeching Weasel invented Chicago punk in 1991, let me tell you what it's about: It's a hard-edged power-chorded punk sound with just a hint of British Oi, mixing the instantly hummable catchiness of a football chant with aggressive and intelligent lyrics. Deminer is the sound of men who know what it's like to have a few too many beers at the end of a long working day, not the sound of overprivileged children pining for imaginary romance. "17 Years" expresses lead singer Miguel Barron's disillusionment after seeing an old once-loved band make a comeback; the band's unidentified, but it doesn't matter, we all know the feeling (if you're old enough.) This is powerful stuff, fist-waving table-pounding punk rock that's in your face and demanding to be heard. Listen, you might learn something. - Jim Testa, Jersey Beat This sounds like a slower FACE TO FACE to me. Which isn't a bad thing. Pop punk with emo overtones and decent melodies/vocals. A good full length. - Maximum Rock n' Roll (DEMINER made Ray Lujan's top 10 in this August 2003 MRR issue.) Featuring former members of Horace Pinker, Armchair Martian and Haymarket Riot, Deminer plays straight-up melodic punk in a style akin to other Chicago bands like Naked Raygun and others--melodic, but keeping the edge of simply constructed punk. - Brian Czarnik, Punk Planet Melodic/emo punk from the windy city here. This is straight-ahead, rockin' punk that's plenty raw for all you purists but doesn't get repetitive. The title may not make you think "sure hit" but "Porkchop in Every Bottle" is a great song. - Sean Helton, Impact Press Deminer has captured everything that makes punk rock fun. These three fellows are on to something. Their songs are full of hooks, yet don't fall victim to the gutless and life sucking format of modern pop punk. Have yourself a tall can and pull out the old Powell Peralta from the attic! -MP Shows
