简介
Emerging from the unlikely towns of Waimea and Kona, is one of Hawaii’s best kept secrets, Analog Dive, comprised of emcee CrazyEight and DJ/producer Kelii. This duo met through Kelii's younger brother Kainoa Behasa, after he attended numerous freestlye sessions and knew Kelii's beats would go perfect with CrazyEight's raps. They worked on a few tracks together and decided that they liked what they could collaboratively produce, so they formed a group, and began working on projects which they would distribute throughout West Hawaii. Both carved niches for themselves in the Kona underground scene. CrazyEight performed at shows and entered rap competitions, intent on honing his craft while Kelii did production for various skate and surf videos, as well as produced beats for innumerous amounts of local rappers. CrazyEight’s unorthodox flow, at times harmonious, at others articulately rushed, is complimented nicely by Kelii's varied instrumentals. After gaining a small but devoted local fanbase through performing and battling, CrazyEight moved to Los Angeles, California in search of opportunities to display his talents to a much larger audience. He and Kelii worked collaboratively from different states, sending files over the internet to construct what is their most significant piece of work to date, “Fineprint”, Analog Dive’s first album. Analog Dive’s debut album has been nearly two years in the making, and features guest appearances from Rhymesayer’s recording artist Mac Lethal, and local Hawaii emcees Splinta The Rat and Southern Cumiford. The album features many diverse soundscapes, from the eerie key progressions of the thought-provoking “Full Mental Chemist” to the Middle-Eastern thump of the club-ready “Poison”. Throughout the album, CrazyEight proves himself to be a pensive lyricist and Kelii provides the backdrops that set the mood perfectly for every track.
