RIPSY MAY RELEASES FOURTH SINGLE ‘I’LL UNDERSTAND’ I’ll Understand is the fourth single from UK based artist Ripsy May, off her upcoming EP. The video directed by Ripsy May and Tigran Tovmasyan features Rip’s mother in Knole park by their home. “This song was written years ago about a heartbreak- and having been away from my mum for so many years meant I had to go through many trials and tribulations without the comfort of home. Coming back home and being able to create a video with her was something that felt like an important thing to do. I approached making this video as a slow accompaniment to the song. I have a more produced version of the song (that will be featured on the EP), but I felt it was more important to release this first- because it was all about the moment in which I wrote and performed this and I wanted to have that take precedence over anything else.” Ripsy May rapidly embarked on her musical journey after moving from London to Los Angeles a few years ago. PIGEONS AND PLANES quickly extended a premiere opportunity for her debut single ‘Black Wine’ Her sophomore single ‘WHEN IN LOVE’ has garnered nearly 200K plays on SPOTIFY over the past couple months catching the eye of its premier curators. ‘ DARE’ was Ripsy May’s third single that premiered on V I C E , and featured in NYLON as one of their top “30 videos” of the week.
