简介
Following their 2nd full-album release a year and half ago (Dec. 2015), Honeydew recorded authentic alternative rock tunes for this "Gift EP." First track "Gift Called Sorrow" is punk-ish, alternative/shoegaze song but guitar solo part somehow sounds like Black Sabbath. Honeydew's singer/guitarist K-Go plays colorful guitar solos in a genre that normally doesn't require guitar heroic stance. Thus, the band is compared to Dinosaur Jr many times for this stint. Despite being Japanese, K-GO and bass/vocalist Junko both spent their youth in NY, influenced by many US indie bands. Honeydew adds a bit of J-rock to their style for Japanese audience appeal as well. After two catchy songs, the third track is a remix of previous album song, and it is remixed by Japanese exotic noise electronica group Omega f2;k. Freaky sounds makes you feel like you're in the amazon jungle.
