Nicolette Good owes interstate I-10 a lot of material, and she's got the lyrics to prove it. The San Antonio, Texas singer has done most of her best writing behind the wheel. She plays at the intersection of Americana and indie-folk, leaning heavily on the subtext that much of contemporary pop seems to be afraid of. Sung in rich, plaintive melodies, her word play and storytelling keep listeners on tilt while paying tribute to heroes like Neko Case, Kathleen Edwards, Gillian Welch and Wilco.
