H.I.M. Music is an independently owned and operated recording label based out of Fort Worth, Tx. Our mission statement is: Loving, Serving, and Exalting Jesus by spreading the Gospel through music so that all saints may be edified and all sinners might be saved. With that being the vision and direction God has given us, our approach to making music, first of all involves being led by the Holy Spirit from beginning to end. Most of our music starts with a specific Bible passage after which we expound upon it like a sermon with the hook being our main point. We coined it as "Text-Driven Music". In an age of mass production and commercialism, the temptation is to make every song sound the same, time and time again. We would rather celebrate the individual characteristics of life and allow that to shine through in our music. We understand music to be used as written by the apostle Paul in Colossians 3:16: "Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God". We strive to encourage, exhort, and teach our brothers and sisters in Christ through music while at the same exalting the matchless name of Jesus Christ. As the psalmist rehearsed several times in the book of Psalms we also warn the wicked to turn from their wicked ways. To stay true to this approach, we are the ones making the decisions throughout the whole music making process. We write the lyrics. We record the music. We mix the music. We develop the artwork. We labor through and through the entire process so that our fingerprints are evident through the ministry of H.I.M. Music. We are not influenced by the "mainstream rap culture". We are not influenced by marketing strategies that cause self-promotion. We take serious the words of our Lord through the apostle Peter: "Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time" (1 Peter 5:6). We understand that the LORD made us in our unique ways and if we allow it, the creativeness He created in each of us can shine through us in wonderful ways, all the time painting a clearer picture of H.I.M.
