Jah-Shawn (Andre Cousins) grew up in a community that produced a number of dancehall heavyweights, including Shabba Ranks and Bounty Killer. His biggest influence, however, was his uncle, a little-known deejay named Mr P who is from Bog Walk in St Catherine.Though he has been recording since he was 12 years old, most of his success has come in Cayman where he recorded for local producers and performed on shows like the Cayman Jazz and Blues Festival. He is back in Jamaica to further his career.
