Pavel Kogan conducts the Moscow State Symphony Orchestra, featuring two concertos composed by Tchaikovsky. Maxim Vengerov's virtuoso performance of Violin Concerto in D Major, op. 35 is superb. A Sultanov beautifully perfoms the Piano Concerto No. 1 in b flat minor op. 23. This is the first time this recording has been released or seen in North America. Additional features on this DVD release are chapters for each tempo/mood change with optional display, biographical information about the conductor and each featured performer as well as the contemporary history of the pieces performed.
