简介
Jamie has loved music since she was a young girl. While most of her 4-year-old friends were singing children's songs and lullabies, her mom tells stories of how she would walk around singing classic rock songs like "Jack and Diane" by John Mellencamp. She began songwriting at the age of 12. Her passion for music and her love of words make songwriting the perfect combination. When asked about her style of songwriting, Jamie replied, "Writing music is personal to me, but it's also something I feel very strongly to share with as many people as possible. We all struggle and experience similar things in life and it's nice to know we're not alone. When I write songs, I often write them from experience. Then I think to myself, 'Are there other people who also feel this way?' And the answer is yes. To me, there's nothing more important than being understood. I believe I can make a true, positive difference through my music and lyrics. Music brings people together, and can even saves lives. That's powerful, and I want nothing more, than to be a part of that". Jamie is no stranger to music. She graduated from The College of New Jersey in May of 2013 with a Bachelors degree in Music Education. She is now pursuing a Masters in Music Therapy at Montclair State University. Jamie plays multiple instruments, including trumpet, guitar, piano, ukulele, and drum set. She writes music in a variety of styles and genres, and occasionally raps in some of her songs. Her songwriting is often compared to that of Carole King. She brings a fresh perspective to her music, fusing acoustic, pop, and orchestral instruments with personal, yet relatable lyrics. She was the co-founder, lead singer, and primary songwriter of her 2014-2015 band Always On Time. Her musical influences and interests include Michelle Branch, Vanessa Carlton, Sara Bareilles, Halsey, Ron Pope, Jason Reeves, Tegan and Sara, Avril Lavigne, Delta Rae, Sufjan Stevens, Ke$ha, Lady Gaga, Dave Melillo, This Wild Life, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Holiday Parade, Parachute, Erin McCarley, The Morning Of, The Workday Release, and many more. ** This album was recorded at Audio Pilot Studio with Rob Freeman. Other instrumentalists involved are Andrew Reyes on bass and backup vocals, Joseph Christianson on trumpet and auxiliary percussion, Cory Lyman on lead guitar, Jarrett Walser on drums, Alex Dadon on violin, Tim Leonard on cello, and Greg Russell on upright bass.
