The son of a former Full Colonel in the Army, he has resided in New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia, Georgia, Delaware, Texas, Kansas and even Germany to name a few. After moving around so much, Word found rap as an outlet when he started saving his lunch money each week throughout high school to buy classic tapes from Redman, Big L, Nas, Eric B. and Rakim, Jeru the Damaja, A tribe called Quest, Da Bush Babees, Krs One, Gangstarr, Das Efx, Public Enemy, Ice Cube, and his cousin Roc Marciano. Though, Wordsmith is a versatile MC, he is also a theater trained actor graduating with a bachelor's degree in Theater Arts from Salisbury University in Salisbury, Maryland. Performing in plays like "All my Sons" and the Musical "1776," Word was able to translate his acting skills to his music and live shows. As the years go by look for Wordsmith to explore his artistic side in music and other endeavors. However, as he always says "I'll do one thing at a time to make sure each craft exhibits quality and gets the attention it deserves. Wordsmith's debut album, "Vintage Material" is going to lay the foundation for the type of music Word will be releasing in the future. Everything from Soulful undertones, 90's Backdrops, unparalleled lyrics, and head banging commercial appeal, will make this project a classic on your shelf for years to come. A precursor, Vintage Material, will leave off where "Classic Material" and "Rockstrumentals" will be picking up. The plan is to have both projects drop on the same day in two separate genres of music. The hip-hop album, Classic Material, is somewhat of a throwback to the golden era of hip-hip (92-96) with its lyrical nature (Rakim), its revolutionary sound (Public Enemy), and storytelling roots (Slick Rick). The rock side of the album, Rockstrumentals, is a new age experiment between Rock and Hip-hop created totally on a beat machine. Run-DMC may have done walk this way in the late 90's with Aerosmith, but this album takes a real MC and puts his lyrics to hardcore rock beats. These projects will be followed by "The Golden Era" and "R2: Ground Zero." Currently, Wordsmith has released his official mix album, "Statements & Stipulations" sponsored by DJ 730 from HipHopgame.com. "Statements & Stipulations" is considered a mixtape; mix album and studio album all rolled into one. 18 original tracks deep, this project is very experimental by the variety of tracks touching the east coast/party heads (Ode to tha Pioneers & Pleasure Palace), west coast lifestyle (Hydrolic Theory), and down south crunk (Countdown). It is not in Wordsmith's repertoire to do some of the tracks on this mix album, but the opportunity to touch the many places he's lived was a welcomed challenge. Noticeable, Wordsmith is using this mix album as a platform to show the industry that he can create mainstream bangers along with potent album tracks. Continuing with the title of the mix album, Word also chose the title, "Statements & Stipulations," as a means to make statements and place certain stipulations on the game with each and every track. Stocked with 3 to 4 legit singles, Wordsmith would like to set a new bar for DJ's and MC's dropping mixtape projects in the future. Moreover, Word's love for classical beats and 90's era hip-hop are not prevalent on this project, but his diversity and capability to do music that define a certain culture are in the forefront. Mastamind: For nearly a decade, Mastamind existed exclusively as a member of the Detroit acid rap group Natas before releasing his first solo album in 2000, proving that he was more than group leader Esham's right-hand man. Ten years earlier while attending Osborne High School in Detroit, MI, Mastamind (born Gary Reed) passed a three-song demo tape to fellow student Esham. At the time, Esham had already released a debut full-length, Boomin' Words From Hell, along with a handful of EPs, making him a substantial superstar amongst his teenaged peers. Esham liked what he heard and decided to form a group with Mastamind and a friend named TNT. Together, the trio decided on the name Natas as a symbol of their disposition at the time and released their first album, Life After Death, on Esham's Reel Life Productions label in 1992. Subsequent years brought a number of follow-ups. In 1994, Mastamind's solo debut appeared, a five-song EP titled Lickkuidrano, but it wasn't until 2000 that his first solo LP appeared, Themindzi. With this release came critical acclaim among the hardcore rap underground, as Murder Dog magazine's readers voted Mastamind 2000's "most slept on" rapper while also praising his album. The rapper then went on the road in 2001, touring nationally for the first time and winning legions of new fans in the process. Mastamind born Gary Reed, spent his youth growing up in a rough neighborhood at the heart of Detroit. Turning to music at an early age Gary took the name Mastamind when people in his neighborhood started to call him the mastermind of rhymes. Gary also knew that he had a plan for the future and the rap phenomenon Mastamind was created. At the age of fifteen he met up with fellow rappers Esham and TNT to form the rap group NATAS (Nation Ahead of Time and Space). NATAS became underground legends releasing 5 successful and controversial albums. Mastamind served as a key writer for all of the group's releases. NATAS's dark imagery and fierce lyrics inspired waves of artists in the industry. Fellow Detroit natives Kid Rock, Insane Clown Posse, and Eminem have all cited NATAS as a pivotal influence on their musical careers. Back in 1994 Mastamind released his first solo effort, an EP entitled "Lickkuidrano". The EP received little to no promotion and sold remarkably well on purely word of mouth. His work on writing and performing with NATAS prevented the release of his full length until now. Six years after his first solo release Mastamind is back with his first full length offering "Themindzi (The Mind's Eye)". According to him "Themindzi" is "all about seeing all sides of things, good and bad. It's about seeing shit through my eyes." Flash being an entertainer is genetics. Flash is a Belizean via New York City and Los Angeles. Entertaining just comes natural to Flash. "Being an entertainer means being different and offering what the audience desires. Give the people their money's worth". Before Flash became a hip hop artist, he made a name for himself as a youth by break dancing throughout Los Angeles. In high school, on the team bus and locker room, he was known to bust a fresh beat box and kick a mean rhyme. While attending UCLA, Flash became a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. and quickly made an impact on the stepshow circuit by becoming a stepmaster. He was also a principal choreographer for Montell Jordan's video "This Is How We Do It". Flash Da Belizean Jagwar: Caribbean people are known for their love of music and Flash is no different. His grandfather was one of the premier entertainers in Belize, Central America. He wrote, directed, composed, sang and danced. Anything to do with the arts, Mr. Robert Reneau, Sr. did it. Flash's uncle, Ernest "Nesto" Tillet, is presently singing lead for a Caribbean band, Phase II. His dad, Robert "Junior" Reneau was a popular DJ in NYC during the 70's. So it should come as no surprise to any that Flash aka Da Belizean Jagwar take the family musical baton and find his niche as a hip hop/Caribbean artist.
