D-Shaw was a member of Modern Approach, a talented male singing group, beginning his freshman year in high school. D-Shaw was seventeen when the group signed their first contract and they went from a small rural town in Louisiana all the way to Los Angeles to record their first single in Paramount Studios. The group had several appearances in L.A. during the summers of 1996 and ‘97. The group opened for many major artists while in California. Since the group would have been cheated by the contractual agreement, D-Shaw and the group members came back to their hometown. D-Shaw, however, was determined to succeed in the music industry. In 1999, he released a compilation album titled "The Genisis". Although a few albums were sold out of the truck, he fell short of any radio play. Feeling he had to do more, he moved to Dallas, Texas in 2000 to continue the journey. He vowed he would not give up because music is his passion. So, he worked endlessly on his craft and would not share his work with the world until he was ready. Now, it's time! He is ready to make a stand with his debut solo album titled "The Movement From Me To You". The past 11 years have given him an opportunity to develop into a wonderful singer, song writer, producer, composer, and a strong businessman with an understanding of the inner workings of the industry. A change is coming!!!! There is a lot of negativity being played on the airways that is impacting the youth and destroying our communities and R&B music does not have such a negative influence. R&B is a soulful composition of instruments and has a story to tell.
