About Ederlezi (pronounced: eDerlezi): A Romani (Gypsy) folk tune named after the Spring Festival celebrated by the Romani people of the Balkans. The lyrics are taken from the Goran Bregovic version. Ederlezi was the 12th and final piece in the Caravan Quest production presented live at Jazzaar Festival 2015 in Aarau, Switzerland. Escorted by their mentors at rehearsals that week in April and all the way to the premiering concert on the weekend, the youth players discovered ways to maneuver their own skills to musically express themselves from other cultural perspectives.
