简介
David Earl Tomlinson is an infamous singer songwriter from Asheville, North Carolina. Drawing inspiration from influences as diverse as the earliest recordings of Alan Lomax to Jeff Buckley and Chet Faker, the single consistent element in all the Earl's efforts is soul. "Worth The Trouble" is no exception. Though not quite as organic and raw as the accolade winning "Local Anesthesia" EP,"Worth The Trouble" continues the theme of original soul with roots in early American folk. Five original songs, including the perhaps Nina Simone seed "Early Bird", resonate from the same well as previous work, but point in a relatively more modern direction. With a darker and more melancholy feel, David Earl takes you on a moody journey that stokes the embers of hope after heartbreak and loss with clever lyrics and elegant (mostly) melodies. "Worth The Trouble" is a new touchstone in David Earl's evolving catalog.
