Named One of Portland's Best Artists 2009 - KINK-FM's Plug in Portland CD compilation Named Oregon's Best Singer/Songwriter 2007 at the Bite of Oregon Named Finalist, Songwriter of the Year 2007 by Portland Songwriters Association ------------------------------------------------ STORY Justin Jude wants to wake you up. This high plains preacher brings deliverance in the form of music rough to the touch and sweet on the tongue. Descended from preachers himself and born with a gift for the salty sermon, this multiple-award-winning songwriter pens songs of love lost, home found, and broken spirits mended. His music is "eclecticana" -- Americana flavored with roots rock, folk, blues, gospel, cabaret and faded old hymns. He's been accused of being able to do anything. This unique style makes Jude a true original. Sounds like? Ryan Adams gets religion. Wilco wades in the water. Counting Crows count their blessings. And this sermonizer can sing. Jude’s live show is a rafter-raising, soul-saving circus of soaring vocals and inspiring songs. His holy rollin’ band, The Open Road, at times swelling to 10 mighty musicians, leaves audiences exhausted and exalted. His incredible range and passionate voice invite comparisons to Martin Sexton and Marc Broussard. Jude has performed with national acts like Lisa Loeb, Erin McKeown and Lucy Kaplansky, as well as West Coast favorites Stephanie Schneiderman, The Dimes, Scott Fisher and Chris Robley. He’s played all over the country, been featured on national television, FM radio, internet radio and several compilations, including KINK-FM’s Plug in Portland Vol. 2 (2009). Jude tours regularly through the Northwest and West Coast. It's soul-searching folk and rock set on a lonesome highway in a western landscape . . . you gotta hear this." - Music City Unsigned “We love using Justin Jude’s music in our television series. His songs of self-discovery are a perfect fit for our show’s roadtrip spirit. One thing for sure about Justin – his road is wide open and he’s going places.“ – Kelli Taylor, National Events Director, PBS’s Roadtrip Nation “Jude’s no professorial folkie, and he rocks pretty hard even when he’s being introspective. That may be one of the reasons he was named Oregon’s Best Singer-Songwriter in 2007 at the Bite of Oregon festival in Portland .., His latest critically acclaimed album, "Truce," is a lyrical attempt to make peace with the past.” – Rob Cullivan, Gresham Outlook “Terrific music for the road . . . I love the music, production, everything. Justin Jude rocks.” - Rick Recht, award-winning songwriter "Vibrant." - The Oregonian "The future is rose-colored for Justin Jude." - Rootstime "Walks the walk of a bona fide talent." - Dave Lowensohn, Speechwriters LLC ----------------------------------------- DISCOGRAPHY "Truce" (2007) - featured on: KINK Local Music Spotlight, 11/15/07 (101.9 FM, Portland, OR) mvyradio Local MusiCafe at http://www.mvyradio.com/local_musicafe (WMVY-FM, Martha's Vineyard, MA) "It's Love It's Love It's Love"(2005) - featured on : Northwest Radio - www.nw-radio.com Misty Mountain Jam - www.myspace.com/soulshinews WECS 90.1 FM, Eastern Connecticut St University - www.myspace.com/901wecs "PDXmas, Vol. 1" (2007) - compilation benefiting Toys for Tots www.pdxmas.org "CDBaby Top Sellers 2006" compilation (2006) "Bridges CD" compilation (2007) - a benefit album for Pacific Oncology "OasisCD" compilation (2005)
