简介

The title of this album is VARUVAYA ERAIVA in Tamil this means “WILL YOU COME GOD”. The best part of this whole album is that the full end profit of this album will be donated to the charity. Read more about it below. The music for this album was composed, rendered and created by myself (Mario D’Souza) more about the making of this album is explained below. All the singers who contributed to this album were professionals. My aim was to create an album with different styles of songs put together to appeal to people of all ages and tastes. 1) Track 1 is MUGAOORAI in Tamil; this roughly translates to - introduction speech. The one line speech is by Mr Lucas (Lucas who is the current president of the Melbourne Tamil Catholic Association 2012, is currently involved in various philanthropic ventures that includes ways to help people in need such as helping and arranging sponsors for poor kids education etc. 2) Track 2 is called VAARUNGAL, in Tamil this directly translates to welcome, it means ‘come let us join together and sing happily to praise the lord’. The song is an entrance hymn, the song is sung by Krishna Raj and the lyrics are written by Lucas. The music style is unusual and different with fusions of western bass and drum beats and Indian Punjabi bhangara beats and music. 3) Track 3 is called ARUL NIRANDHAVALEA, in Tamil this directly translates to being filled with blessings. It is a song of mother Mary Our Lady of Health Velankani. The song praises mother Mary as being filled with blessings and you have filled my body and soul, how I feel the pleasure as soon as I see your face and so on. The song is sung by Sangeetha and the lyrics written by Samanasu Sagayaraj. 4) Track 4 is a song called IDHAMAANA RAAGAM in Tamil this directly translates to “just right appropriate scale of music”. It is an offertory song, it says, a just right appropriate scale of music had just got created today Jesus, When you are in me why will I have any worries hence forth. The music is punchy and jumpy, the highlights in this song are the tumba drums sample sounds I edited and used in this song that follows the chords and bass. The song is sung by Sunanthan and the lyrics were written by Samanasu Sagayaraj. 5) Track 5 is called VARUVAYA ERAIVA in Tamil this directly translates to “Will you come God?” It is a song of reflection, it says will you come god and give the blessing and boon to settle under your feet. I composed the music to be a bit catchy and simple for this song so that the tune is easily remembered by the listeners. The song is sung by Priya Prakash and the lyrics were written by Lucas. 6) Track 6 is called NATUPURA METTU in Tamil this directly translates to “country style folk tune”. It is a folk song, it says “I will give you a country folk tune, our mother is a very good mother praised by country and towns”. The music is folk style with a touch of western fusion. The song is sung by Pushpavanam Kuppuswami and the lyrics were written by Samanasu Sagayaraj. 7) Track 7 is called DHARISANAM in Tamil this directly translates to “vision appearance”. It is a song of mother Mary Our Lady of Health Velankani. It means you are the mother who appeared. The music is melodic and I edited and used korg KARMA (Kay Algorithmic Real time Music Architecture) in this song. The song is sung by Sangeetha and the lyrics were written by Samanasu Sagayaraj. 8) Track 8 is called VIDIYALIN in Tamil this directly translates to ”early morning”. It is a communion song. “With this sweet music of early morning I crave for one boon my spirit and my lord come into me”. The music starts with early morning birds singing and church bell. The song is sung by Krishnaraj and the lyrics were written by Nirmala Alphonse. 9) Track 9 is called ARUL NIRAINDHIDUM in Tamil directly translates to “full of blessings”. It is a song of praise to mother Mary Our Lady of Health Velankani. It says “heavenly mother filled with blessings you are the day light which removes the darkness and so on”. The music is a blend of little variety within itself. The song is sung by Priya Prakash and the lyrics were written by Samanasu Sagayaraj. 10) Track 10 is called YETHANAI KANAVUGAL in Tamil this directly translates to “so many dreams”. It is a dance song. It says “so many dreams I had in my mind and stood surprised as I watched it all happen in reality, O lord how much of love you have on me”, and so on. The music is a fusion of South Indian and Gujarat garba (kolattam) style, the song is sung by Sunanthan and the lyrics were written by Samanasu Sagayaraj. 11) Track 11 is called AARUIERAE in Tamil this roughly translates to “ever living our lady of health”. It is a praise song of mother Mary Our Lady of Health Velankani. It says ever living Our Lady of Health and giver of happiness and so on. The music in this track is again a different melodic combination. I edited and used Korg KARMA (Kay Algorithmic Real time Music Architecture) in this song. The song is sung by Krishnaraj and the lyrics were written by Samanasu Sagayaraj. 12) Track 12 is a one line closing thank-you speech by Lucas. 13) Track 13 is a KARAOKE track for song Varuvaya eraiva Trk 5 In this CD album five Tracks number 3, 6, 7,9,11 are songs of annai velankkani maadha (Our lady of Good Health) Tamilnadu, South India. Vailankanni is fondly known as the 'Lourdes of the East' because like Lourdes in France, millions of pilgrims visit the Shrine throughout the year, praying to Our Lady for various needs and thanking her for the favours received through her intercession. Tradition recounts that Mother Mary appeared with the Infant Jesus in this small hamlet at the end of the 16th or in the early 17th century. Ever since, Vailankanni is the most important destination and almost the synthesis of all Marian Sanctuaries for the pilgrims of the world. The crowds of pilgrims come here regardless of creeds and languages. Our Lady of Vailankanni devotions down through the centuries have proved the Shrine to be of divine origin and has assumed international character. Mary, the focus of unity at Vailankanni, is a clear proof of international, multicultural, and religious harmony. More about valankani here velankannichurch.com MAKING OF THIS CD ALBUM The creation of this album was not completed in a few hours. I composed and created each song by layering and building track by track. I also played all the instrumental elements of the songs. This process took months using Cake Walk Sonar Program. Apart from using hi-quality samples and soft plug-ins I used Korg M3 Workstation to create the instrumental sounds. Every instrument track was recorded and rendered to hi-quality 32-bit and was then transferred to DVD discs. Thanks to Lucas my friend as he took all the recorded material along with the printed notation sheets and instructions from me and flew to India Chennai, he booked the studio, professional Vocal artists and got the vocals recorded along with thabela and a few percussion instruments recorded live, it was then mastered, printed so on. Thanks to the people who wrote the lyrics free of cost for this album.
