简介
Bec Schofield and Dave Mann are the ultimate, unplugged troubadours. The way they do music, family and life is very D.I.Y. Since their alchemical meeting in Kakadu, NT in 2008 this pair have built their own tiny eco house on wheels (complete with mobile recording and PA set up), had three children (inc.twins), produced and recorded their own albums, started home schooling and travelled (on Waste Veggie Oil) all over the country playing festivals and house concerts. Since 2011 Bec and Dave have been involved with Gascoyne in May. During that time they’ve developed artistic alliances, valued friendships, connections and a strong affinity for that special country. They recorded the Sounds of the Gascoyne CD with local artists and two of the songs won WAMi awards. They were musical directors for successful productions, Willy Willy and How High the River, creating soundtracks in collaboration with the Pundarra Dancers and more recently for the Bubble animation. They have provided mentoring, production, facilitation for numerous songwriting workshops and performed at the Gascoyne festivals both as a duo and on their own. Songs are inspired from their love of land and family. This intimate music features soothing harmonies that meld into one through their favoured single mic approach. Mandolin, slide and open-tunings come together to create their unique form of soul country music with its roots in folk blues. Bec and Dave are passionate about connecting through song and story and they sing up a campfire in the hearts of audiences wherever they go.
