Pebbles in the Sky is dedicated to all the peaceful protesters of this world who stand up for all our rights. I started recording versions of this song sometime in spring 2011 on my mac, using Garageband. I had this riff I couldn't let go off, and I had the start of some lyrics ("This city's made of glass, we fly in to make it crash...") that just fitted perfectly with that riff, it's really strange near mysterious when those things just fit together in the moment, the melody, the text and the instruments, the music naturally intertwining. I was in UK at the time, but it wasn't until I traveled to Sweden and actually began recording over at a friend's place that it started to become complete and more to-the-point; my garageband-versions just went on for 6-7 minutes and lacked the punch and finesse that Anders Willsson then brought to the song with heavier drumming and a better ear than mine for mixing and producing. As always, he brought many good ideas and suggested that the first verse would be repeated at the beginning of the song, but in a more whispery manner, which had a positive impact also on other bits of the song - it inspired me to sing better. Ok, not to make a long story longer, but this was in December 2011 we started the recording in Sweden. A couple of days of laying the tracks, then I was off to UK again, pleading to Anders over email and over the phone that we just got to finish this song, can we work on the drums remote without us being in the same country? That was the bit that was seriously lacking at that point, and I wasn't sure about the lyrics track and some other things... Well, finally in July this summer we got together again, around the times of visiting music shops in central Stockholm, playing Led Zeppelin-riffs and buying new guitars we managed to wrap it up: our own protest-song, our defiance against injustices, with a smile on our faces.
