A lot of people who are from my generation or who are younger than me, were taught in school and by society that they were special. That they were winners and the best and could do anything that they wanted. This song is about the moment you start to realize that all that nonsense had a real effect on your outlook. This song is about that moment when you realize that maybe you aren't as special as you were told. Q. Heavy. A. Yeah, but it's also kind of goofy in parts. Q. Where'd you learn to play guitar like that? A. Simon and Garfunkel records. Q. What genre of music is this? A. Yeah good question. I suppose to a regular person, it'd sound like folk since it features acoustic guitars. But does that make Elliot Smith folk? Or Nick Drake? I don't think so. I think it's just a song.
