简介
Cadiz, Ohio is a small coal mining town tinted black from many years of coal dust whipping through its hilly landscape. It's also the hometown of songwriter Robert Lee and a fitting name for his new musical endeavor. You see, lurking underneath the town's soot is a colorful cast of characters that helped to inspire many of the songs on Cadiz's debut album, Breakers. Robert's songs are full of sweet melody but can be beautifully haunting, as anyone familiar with his former band King Lear Jet knows. It was through his previous outfit that he met producer Adam Lasus (Helium, Clem Snide, Mark Mulcahy, Versus), and the two formed a great creative relationship. After the demise of King Lear Jet, Robert began demoing his new songs at home in Atlanta on 4-track. He sent them to Adam to see what he thought. Adam's response was "Get the hell up here, Robert - we gotta make these gems into a record!!!" So Robert packed up his Gibson acoustic and electric and headed north to Brooklyn to record. Adam and Robert rounded up some fellow Brooklyn musicians. Anders Parker (Varnaline) J.P. Jones(Lynnfield Pioneers),Joe McGinty (Ryan Adams), Scott Porter, and old bandmate Chris Rowell (Warm in the Wake) The results were stunning. Robert's songs came to life. Some even larger then life. The bands performances were effortless and always seemed to drive the songs where they needed to be. With a range of to draw from, a unique sound was created - part Indie Pop, Rootsy Rock and Paisley Pop. Breaker's catchy melodies will stay in your head and the songs will work their way into your heart. We invite you to listen to Breakers the heartfelt first effort from Robert Lee's Cadiz.
