简介
Rachel is normally associated with classical-crossover & musical theatre. However, she has branched out into writing her own pop compositions. Human Too is her Christian worship song debut. Rachel is a classical-crossover artiste from Malta. She completed a Masters in Musical Theatre at the Guildford School of Acting (UK) and was Head of Music at Masquerade School for the Performing Arts for the past four years. She also graduated with a Psychology (Hons) degree from the University of Malta. Rachel also formed part of the classical crossover quartet All Angels, with whom she performed with for four years, at such prestigious venues as Wembley Stadium (Champions League Final 2011) in front of 90,000 live spectators and millions of TV viewers, in front of over 20,000 people at the 02 Arena, Manchester Arena, Sheffield Arena, Birmingham LG Arena, the House of Commons and the Royal Albert Hall. She has performed alongside leading artistes such as Alexandra Burke, Katherine Jenkins, Dionne Bromfield, Dame Shirley Bassey, Tinchy Stryder, Ruth Lorenzo and Lesley Garrett. As part of All Angels, Rachel has performed on BBC’s The One Show, a Channel 4 feature on All Angels and at the Classic Brit Awards at the Royal Albert Hall. The group recorded an EP together called ‘Starlight’ which they launched at Covent Garden’s Apple Store. Rachel most recently played the iconic role of MARIA Von Trapp in The Sound of Music at the MCC (Grapevine Music) last October. Andre Delicata, for The Times of Malta: "...Maria, played by the wonderful Rachel Fabri - whose clear, pure tones certainly do justice to the character - which is no easy task, as the Julie Andrews comparison is inevitable. However, Fabri made the role Maria her very own..." Just before playing the role of Maria, Rachel portrayed a rather different character, that of the spunky Regina in Malta's longest running musical Rock of Ages (TAC Theatre). Rachel also recently featured as a soloist in the popular ROCKESTRA 2016 alongside Malta's leading artists and the MPO. UK theatre roles include lead in Persephone (Edinburgh Fringe Festival), the lead ‘Cassie’ in Make Believe at the Henley Festival and the Young Girl in Anything Goes at the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre. Rachel also played ‘Cockney Girl’ in Me and My Girl at the London Palladium, ‘Polly Browne’ in The Boyfriend, ‘Oolie’ in City of Angels and ‘Rachel’ in When Midnight Strikes amongst others. She particularly enjoyed touring as a guest soloist in the UK tour of Beyond the Barricade and another career highlight for Rachel was singing and acting alongside Dominic Cooper and Philip Quast in the Lee Tamahori film ‘The Devil’s Double’ playing Arabic singer Abdel Akle, where she was required to sing in Arabic. Rachel has appeared in many theatrical roles in Malta – some of these include being a guest artiste in Teatru Unplugged 16, performing alongside Kim Criswell at the HSBC Summer Concert with the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra and performing as a soloist at the Orchestra’s Movie Spectacular. She was the main soloist in the musical revues Simply Webber and Comedy Tonight and played Princesses Snow White in the popular Christmas pantomime The Curse of Snow White (2012/3) and Princess Bianca in the pantomime Sleeping Beauty (2005/6). Rachel took on the role of Catherine in '1565 The Musical in Concert' alongside the MPO. She also formed part of the Animae Gospel Choir and was a featured soloist in the Choir's concerts in October 2015 at the Mediterranean Conference Centre, Malta. In 2015, Rachel took on the challenging role of Cathy in the Jason Robert Brown two-person musical 'The Last Five Years' which was held in November 2015 at the Blue Box in Malta (Masquerade Theatre Company). Andre Delicata, for The Times of Malta, wrote of Rachel's portrayal of Cathy: "Fabri's voice was genuine in her rendition of 'Still Hurting'..and Fabri's performance was heartfelt and solid and her enthusiastic 'Goodbye Until Tomorrow'..held the promise of a tenderly budding relationship". Jes Camilleri, for The Sunday Times of Malta: "Rachel Fabri was a great Cathy, quietly emotional in her heart-wrenching delivery of her opening song 'Still Hurting' and hilariously comical in her excellent 'Audition Sequence'." Rachel is signed to the internationally-renowned Eclipse Artists Agency. Focusing now on several solo projects, Rachel is delighted to have recorded her first solo album called ‘Forever Yours’ which is doing very well both in Malta and overseas. She released the album by means of highly successful launch concerts both in Malta, at Maria Rosa Wine Estate, as well as in the UK, at The Pheasantry in London. The album as well as the album's launch received lots of praise - Christina Lejman for The Times of Malta: "Both the event and the album it celebrated were well-executed and chock-full of talent." The 'Forever Yours' album as well as a few singles are available for online purchase via iTunes, CD Baby, Amazon and Spotify. Rachel also recently released her original song Let You Go - also available on iTunes, CDBaby, Spotify etc.
