Scott Cochran and Flannel is an eastern-Iowa alt-country-rock type of band that plays mainly original songs, with a few covers by the likes of Merle Haggard, Buddy Holly, and CCR thrown in.

Influenced by the late Gram Parsons' "Cosmic American" brand of music, Scott & Flannel mix solid roots rock with old-fashion Americana twang. For lack of a better label, Scott calls their music Genuine Cornfed Cosmic Iowa Roots Music.
