Aftereffect is an alternative rock/gothic metal band with many influences from electronic music such as techno and drum'n'bass. The band was born in 2009 by Alexander (guitars,vocals,synths) and Nicolas (bass) and was reborn in 2013 with the addition of Maryah (lead vocals) and Constantine (drums). With that line-up the band has recorded a maxi single called "Free Your Mind" which contains two original songs and two remixes. At the same time the band shot their first video clip for the song "Free Your Mind" to initiate the audience to their visual aspect and aesthetics. The songs of Aftereffect are simple and catchy at their base but at the same time they are complex and full of tricks which make them interesting to listen. Heavy metal riffs meet techno beats, electronic synthesizers meet rock'n'roll solos and heavy beat downs. The melodic female vocals bring you to the 90's pop and eurodance Era and the baritone male goth vocals add a darker feeling making a successful contrast. The last two songs are remixes and are a tribute to the band's influences and musical background and they allow the audience to experience the songs from a different point of view and on different occasions. One remix is fashioned after ebm club music and the other is crafted as a drum'n'bass hit. "Free Your Mind" and "Hear On Frenzy" were recorded and mixed in Cyprus at Soundscape Studios by Chris Charalambides between December 2013 and January 2014 while the mastering was made in Australia at Studios 301 by Leon Zervos. "Free Your Mind (Technolorgy Remix)" was mixed and mastered at Lunatech Sounds Recording Studios by Dimitris Douvras, Greece in 2014. "Free Your Mind (Destroyed by Type V Blood)" was mixed and mastered in Russia by Type V Blood in 2014.
