Ashley J brings a fascinatingly diverse background, artistically and musically to her emergence into the pop-scene. Her emotive songwriting and dreamy yet captivating vocals charms listeners worldwide. Ashley J burst onto the scene in July 2014 with her ‘One and One’ EP featuring mixes by DJ Yannis, Reid Stefan and Sted E & hybrid Heights. The “One and One” single reached Billboard's Top 20 Dance Charts later that summer. The following year, Ashley J released a slew of remixes following her well-received track, “Cali.” The “Cali” remix featuring prominent producer Ralphi Rosario hit in to a sweet spot of Billboard's Top 10 Dance Chart soon after its release. Ashley’s third single “Dare Ya” also received tremendous support from media while peaking at #3 on the Official European Independent Music Charts. With grand praise, an inspired Ashley returned to the studio to prepare for her debut EP which is expected to drop later this year. To gear up for the new release Ashley gives fans a sneak peek of her new music with her forthcoming single, “Trapped.” The new single was produced by multi-platinum Grammy and Emmy winning, Narada Michael Walden. Laced with mid-tempo snaps, shadowy synths and soft whispers; “Trapped” highlights a deep infatuation with a new partner. The infectious chorus and moody tones will leave this song lingering in the listener’s head long after the first listen. Hailing from Orlando, Florida Ashley J was heavenly influenced by Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, Christina Aguilera and Michael Jackson along with country heroes, Johnny Cash and Dolly Parton. Growing up, Ashley was found writing song lyrics on her bathroom wall that her parents had to continuously repaint. After many theatre, dance and musical performances in her teens, Ashley decided to bring this whirlwind of talent, energy and tenacity to create her own music. While enrolled at the University of Tulsa to pursue a Bachelor’s in Business Law, Ashley wrote, recorded and produced several pop and country songs in Oklahoma and Nashville including a duet titled “This Love’s Forever” which was created for a well-known country music couple and was recorded and produced at the Blackbird Studios in Nashville. In December of 2015, Ashley J graduated form the University of North Texas with her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Law. With her musical dreams coming true every day as a recording and performing artist, she is also setting her sights on someday owning and running her own record label. “In regard to my decision to stay at the University and finish my degree while all of this is going on,” she says, “I like to say that those who have the backup plan won’t need it and those who don’t, will. I am grateful to be working with so many talented industry professionals who are helping me in my career, but I also think it’s important for artists to understand every aspect of the business. Life throws you curveballs all the time so you have to be prepared for anything.” “I’m really having a great time, and I’ve never felt more a part of the industry than I am right now,” Ashley J adds. “I feel that I’m in complete control of who I am and what my music and message is.
