For me, its a song about unconditional love, practicing un-attachment, and about loving someone so much - even if you don't ever get to tell them how much they mean to you. Its also about taking responsibility for our feelings/actions in any relationship, about realizing we ARE the other, and about loving the people in our lives (including ourselves) for who they are and who they're not.
