简介
Cotch are a band from Macclesfield North West England, fronted by singer songwriter Matt Cotterill. The band consists of drummer Dion Osbaldeston, guitarist Gareth Price and bassist Ross Massey. Matt has been writing and playing guitar for the best part of a decade and has been performing solo for quite some time. His songs are born from the everyday trials and tribulations of life to wonderful highs of romance, family and friends, partying and the comedowns that follow..... with songs such as 'Polarity change' that delves into mental health and 'For the lives' a look into how we can become products of our upbringing, to the openly honest love letter 'Afraid to fray'. Cotch's debut EP 'Where peaks meet plains' was produced by Joe Roberts of Butterfly Jam. Matt and Joe both had similar ideas when it came to making music and in addition to a certain freedom of expression, the result was a highly creative environment in the studio. Songs are built around guitar and a northern falsetto vocal, with an experimental edge of electronic sounds and eclectic beats, whilst maintaining a live acoustic feel, culminating in a truly original sound. With sing a long choruses and catchy guitar hooks a definite for any ones record collection.
