NAYO Jones [pronounced “Năh yōh”] was born in Chicago, Illinois into a family of musicians. Her parents believed even in her younger years, she was destined to entertain. Nayo, a happy child, full of childhood antics leaned towards singing, dancing and acting. Nayo’s first exposure to live stage occurred when she was chosen to play the lead role in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, adapted for grammar school age children. Following in her successful musician father, Nayo had grown to be an accomplished flutist by the time she was in high school. Throughout high school, she managed to audition for talent shows, sing in church choirs and even held the first chair in her high school band’s flute section. Nayo also competed on a state level for honor bands and other various musical competitions. In addition to her musical accomplishments Nayo some how found time to participate in sports and other extracurricular activities. After graduating from Spelman College, Nayo once again felt the urge to perform. She pursued a place in her father’s professional band that performs locally and traveled to surrounding States. Nayo wanted to sing and under her father’s musical wings and expertise she has grown to be a highly respected vocalist on the music scene.
