简介

Secret Dreams is a look at the softer side of Michel's musical personality. Completely improvised, the music rises and falls as his emotion takes him through the moment, those private moments we all experience as human beings, but rarely share with each other……. More about Michel Rubini: Born into a musical family, Michel started playing piano at the age of three. A professional classical pianist since early childhood, he began his performing career as a child. At eighteen Michel left classical music behind and pursued his true love of music - blues, jazz, and rock 'n roll. Though touring extensively in his early twenties, Rubini continued his composing and recording career. He gathered attention as a pianist and organist on his own records. He became one of the most sought-after Los Angeles session players in history, performing on albums by a hugely diverse list of artists ranging from Ray Charles to Frank Zappa, and Frank Sinatra to Barbra Streisand. He is a leading member of the world-renowned group of musicians known as The Wrecking Crew. He is a subject of the new best selling book entitled 'The Wrecking Crew', with both a Broadway play and film currently in pre-production. In 1966 he was signed by Atlantic Records and released 2 instrumental singles produced by Ahmet Ertegun. In 1967 he became musical director for singer Johnny Mathis. In 1969 he became musical director for international jazz star Nancy Wilson. In 1970 he arranged rhythm tracks for the Barbara Streisand albums “Stoney End” and “Barbara Joan Streisand”. In 1971 he became musical director, arranger and record producer for Sonny and Cher. His talent motivated Motown Records into signing him as an artist, producer and writer, where he produced and arranged albums for Junior Walker, Thelma Huston, The Fifth Dimension and other Motown legends. His unique writing style also caught the ear of motion picture directors such as Tony Scott, who signed him to score "The Hunger," and Michael Mann, who asked Rubini to score two films for him, "Manhunter" and "Band of The Hand." Following that road led him into a successful career of composing mini-series, HBO specials, movies of the week and the TV series "The Hitchhiker." His blues score for "Ride with the Wind" was reviewed as "one of the best of the year" and he has also composed scores for a number of studio and independent feature films. Feeling the need to express himself more fully he composed his album "Secret Dreams - Improvisations". Later, wanting to perform and get back into his passion of playing jazz and blues, Rubini formed a new blues band and recorded a new CD, "Band is Tight Tonite", also available on CD Baby. Among his other original albums are “Music from the Hitchhiker”, the score music from the original TV series, and also the original motion picture soundtrack to “Nemesis”, also available on CD Baby.
