简介
Born and raised in small town Van Buren, Arkansas, Laura grew up in the heart of the music of the Arkansas River Valley. Beginning with picking up a ukulele at the age of 5, she was mentored on to guitar by her incredibly talented county-wide celebrity of a father, Grant Pierson. At the age of 8, after Laura's musically gifted older brother, Joe Pierson, had been accompanying her on guitar for a few years, he decided he no longer wanted to play her girly love songs constantly, which left Laura to become her own backup music. After learning 4 chords, 8 year old Laura began writing her own songs. She tagged along to her dad's and brother's gigs, watching them preform and being invited up on stage to play one or two originals during the band's smoke break. After a few years of this, and playing along during evening porch jams with her dad's group of musically diverse and talented friends, these jams evolved into full-fledged all night jam sessions every Wednesday night of the summer, and the musical colleagues evolved into extended family, teaching her songs, chords, and genres she'd never heard of, and raising her into the music community of the city of Fort Smith. With their influence and support, Laura began playing gigs of her own, headlining and playing large venues in Fort Smith such as Landry's, Webby D's, Movie Lounge, Neumeier's Rib Room, and at the age of 15, she opened for Los Lonely Boys at Neumeier's Rib Room. She was mentioned in Nightflying Magazine, and also won the Alchemy Songwriting Competition of 2013 with her original song "Blues" winning the both the Youth Division and the category of Rhythm and Blues. Her Debut album, "From Where You're Sitting" which she released at the age of 17, features many of the artists who influenced her music and raised her to believe people really wanted to listen to it.
