简介

anny’s first musical experience was in the womb. “My parents were living in London and while I was incubating they took me along to hear Crosby Stills and Nash, Neil Young, Bruce Springsteen’s famous 1975 Hammersmith Odeon concert and Led Zeppelin.” These are just a few of Danny’s influences that have resulted in his sophomore album “Dominoes”. “The lounge room in our house was filled with records and an old Bang & Olufsen stereo. I spent most of my childhood discovering all the gems amongst these beautiful 12” pieces of vinyl.” After winning battle of the band competitions in high school, Danny’s self taught guitar skills and unique sounding voice had him playing his first professional gigs when he was 16. His career looked bright until he was struck down by leukaemia when he was 19 he eventually won this battle ten years later and returned to music with his debut album “The Transplant Tapes” written during recovery from the bone marrow transplant that saved his life. Danny’s skills on the guitar lead him to some serious session work including playing lead guitar in the touring bands of Bernard Fanning and Tim Rogers. Since then Danny’ has toured the nation with his band The Wilson Pickers and has been busy writing and recording his latest album. “I’m just trying to make the music that I want to hear – music that I don’t hear on the tv or radio – music that is written for me…” says Danny from Butter Chicken - his home studio that has produced not only his debut album “The Transplant Tapes”, but a winning entry in the national JJJ remix competition, music for tv and now his latest adventure “Dominoes”. The songs from his latest release have seen him short listed in the Grant MacLennan Memorial Fellowship as well as being nominated for a Qsong award for his Joe Walsh and RL Burnside inspired track “My Desires”. http://www.myspace.com/dannywiddicombe Transplant Tapes reviews - “...
