"My God Is...Awesome (He's Everything)" is an eclectic mix of music styles by J. Howard Duff, worship leader and musician from South Carolina. Currently celebrating his 50th anniversary as guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter, J. Howard's musical journey began in the NY/NJ metro area listening (and trying to emulate) the Stones, Yardbirds & The Animals. He formed the Duff Band in the 70's, playing with the likes of Bruce Springsteen, Blackfoot, Todd Rundgren, and the J. Giels Band. In the 1980's he and his wife Dawn formed the infamous punk band, Partners In Crime, whose records entered the top 10 Indie charts worldwide. After moving to SC in the late 1990's, he went back to his original blues roots, playing solo and with the duo Metro Blues, releasing a critically acclaimed Cd and playing to enthusiastic crowds in SC & Georgia. Then, in January of 2006, a major change occurred in J's life. That change came courtesy of Jesus Christ. This event changed EVERYTHING. Always known for the passion he had for the music he played, "...being saved," says J., "moved that passion to the next, and a much higher, level." He began playing with the Praise Band at the Church of the Cross in Bluffton, SC, and later, became a worship leader there. He has drawn on his 50 years of musical influences to record "My God Is...Awesome (He's Everything)". From the thumping blues beat of "Thank You Lord (Band Version)", the hard rock and screaming guitar of the title track, the haunting electric gospel sound of "Handwriting On the Wall", the 60's Stax sound of "I'm Drinking From My Saucer", the Santana-like guitar on "Promised Land", the Elvis inspired arrangement of "I Stand Amazed", and the Southern Gospel, rock, bluegrass, & contemporary Christian influences on the album's other tracks, J's virtuosity and that "higher passion" is displayed throughout.

Asked about "My God's" message, he said that he maintains this principle both in his life and on this Cd: "Yes, the music is the message... but the message MUST be Christ."
