BIO- The Bastard Suns original music is mostly comprised of reggae infused punk rock, often mixed with Irish drinking music. They bring a high energy performance, popular with both sexes and most age groups. They have made it their mission to play an intense, high energy and enjoyable show every time. Currently The Bastard Suns are playing weekly shows all over the south east United States. They have amassed a very large and dedicated fan base with their unique combination of dancehall reggae and high speed punk rock- affectionately and appropriately dubbed as “drunk rock” by their fans. Press Reviews Demo Critique Music Connection Magazine, January 2007 The name of this Atlanta band's album, Blood, Sweat & Beers, tips you off that they intend to live up to their self-described "drunk rock" style of music. Best of the bunch might be "Stay/Go," which alternates slow reggae grooves with balls-out punk rock frenzy. Singer Clayton Hiers growls "My Pint" convincingly (and his bandmates shout choruses with gusto), but he comes up short on "Fight Aggression," which is a "white guy does toaster impersonation." Still, this is a clever, energetic party band. Must see band of the week – January 2007 Lenny' Bar - Atlanta, GA This band mixes reggae and punk and a little bit of thrash that makes you want to skank till your shoes have holes. These guys rule because of the diversity in their music, you can be crazy energetic jumpin' one song and feelin the lazy days the next...grab a *tobacco* joint and jump in front, these guys love to slow it down to the roots of reggae. Whether you're a hyperactive punk or a reggae-lovin' *tobacco smoker*, you need to check these guys out! These bastards have righteously earned their Lenny's bar must see band of the week title! Record Label Review Bodog Music The Bastard Suns is one of the most exciting live acts I've ever seen! To start with, they have rented a bus and brought all their fans to every show. The lead singer really works the crowd, and these guys have a great time just playing music. The Bastard Suns remind me of Sublime, with that reggae rock feel. In addition to that, they have a percussion section and a huge crowd that likes to drink and party!. Christine Brown Bodog Battle of the Bands – Regional Manager Promoter Review Chwdog Productions This band is one of the easiest bands I have ever worked with to get together and play a show for me. They made my birthday party the best show I have ever been to. They are always easy to deal with, and a blast to work with. They are professional, courteous and nothing but a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend them to anyone considering booking them. Shannon Joiner President/C.E.O Chwdog Productions (Music/Concert Promoters) Fan/Musician Review Anthony Plummer The Bastard Suns...what words can be used to describe this band? Dedicated, crazy and energetic spring to mind, just to name a few. When confronted with their brilliantly intoxicating mix of grassroots reggae chased with both old and new school punk influences, these guys will most assuredly never leave you disappointed! From Clay's brilliant vocals and get-down-and-dirty-with-the-crowd attitude, to the punishing twin guitar assault of Kevin and Wes, to the uncompromising rhythm section provided by Chris, Jason and Zach, the sound is tight and refined. Yet even with all their refined talent, you can still feel the raw emotion dripping off of their songs like the sweat off an ice-cold beer, which the band is known to consume copious amounts of during every one of their mind-blowing sets. The sound is both refreshing and intoxicating all at once. If you're into the punk/reggae sound, or if you just wanna come out to chill and drink a good sarsaparilla, (or two, or six) everyone will find something about The Bastard Suns' show that they are sure to enjoy. And if not, then just let 'em know and they will find a way to get you to enjoy it! Anthony Plummer Musician/Songwriter/Promoter
