简介

I STILL DON'T SING LIKE PATSY , MARTINA or REBA!!! If you visited my other Album site "SMALL TOWN, USA", and read it completely thru, I won't repeat that info! If you haven't, go there first, then come back and read this! I want to mention a little of what I didn't mention before: my background in music, and what I like in music. I LOVE TO SING, and I sing many styles. County, Pop, Rock, Blues, Folksy stuff, Country Rock. . . but no matter what style I am singing...... what comes out of my mouth is still pure COUNTRY! I'll repeat the fact that I am "a product of my environment" ! So me: P. ANN WILSON HARDIN.....is telling the world that I am really a "closet' rocker! I love rock! I cut my teeth on a 45 with Fat's Domino's "Blue Berry Hill" and the flip side "Bacon Fat". I boogied to Elvis; twisted to Chuck Berry; Drooled over the Bee-Gees; awed with Kiss; marveled at Tom Petty; envious of the talents of Joe Walsh and Eric Clapton; cruised on the road many hours with ZZ Top in my tape player! But country rhythm is just in my bones! Has always been there behind the Rock! Then it got side by side with my roots, country! Dolly Parton on the Porter Wagner Show, Patsy Cline, Charley McClain, even the antics of Minnie Pearl, plus many more, were my earlier influences to Country. So if you listen to my guitar playing close.... Its not quite true county, and not quite rock-n-roll either! My studio engineer calls it ..." the Ann Hardin Rhythm"! (he's getting used to it now!) My one ROCK song on this album is "NINETEEN & EAGER" has always been a favorite of my "peers"! I never know what's going to "trip my trigger" for a song inspiration. They just happen. Some of my favorite songs I have written and like to perform are not always what others like to hear, and that's ok! I always get requests for "Au' Natural". (CD #3, not yet completed). I got fed up changing the color of my hair, and wearing those god-awful push-up bra's that are supposed to make you look.... Better???? I also like to give them my all in songs like "ANOTHER TIME, ANOTHER DAY" (Small Town, USA #7)' or, "SMALL WOODEN CROSS" (Walking In My Mothers Shoes #5), Co-written with a great lyricist, Randy Rogers from Dallas, TX. On this album, I coerced a great friend/songwriter/singer to record that song for me as well as the duet "THAT'S WHAT IT TAKES" (Walking In My Mothers Shoes #10). My mother passed away at an early age of 57. The song "WALKING IN MY MOTHERS SHOES" was derived from her life, my life, and my daughters life. She (mother) endured a lot of heartache, hard times, and poor health. I don't think I could walk in her shoes! "LOW DOWN GET-ME-DOWN BLUES" (Small Town, USA #9). A fun song! I was a single mom with my teenage daughter and dog at home. Trying to work, make ends meet and not go crazy. Took me about 2 hours to write that song! But, NOT ALL my songs are humorous, but all my songs are personal or some one close to me who had a personal experience, or a co-writer who came up with the idea, and I supplied some inspiration. More of my funny/humorous songs on this (and other) albums are: "DEVIL DANCIN' EYES " (Walking In My Mothers Shoes #1). Went to a local bar one night to kick up my heels. There was a cowboy there with twinkling, dancin' eyes and ornery thoughts! He was kickin' up his heels! "CAPT MIKE & THE ANNIE-POO"" (Walking In My Mothers Shoes #6) My hubby and I were headed for the Gulf to do some fishing. Traveling down Texas highway 281, about 4 miles near Jacksboro... the strap on the boat-to-trailer broke, and the "Annie-Poo" slid off the trailer... grab a pina-colada and hear the rest of the story! "OLD BLUE FROG" (Walking In My Mothers Shoes #12) You've heard the fairy tale all your life about "kiss the frog and he'll turn to a prince". . . . A little twist for froggie! Actually, this song has now turned into a book for children with a CD that accompanies the book. Fully narrated by a wonderful storyteller , and the song at the end of the story. Release date for the book has not been scheduled yet! E-mail me if you are interested in a copy. (for a small fee of course!) This book is designed for ages 6 Months to 60 years! Since I love "funny/humorous/laugh-a-lot songs. . . CD #3 (not yet titled) will contain favorites such as: "Au-Natural"; "Sniffin' Your Biscuits"; "If I Promise To Miss You"; "It's 10:00 and He Knows Where His Beer Is"; "Double Shots of Crown"; "If I'm Drinkin' To Forget You"; "Mooned Over Aransas Pass" .... And, maybe one serious song! Thanks for your interest in READING this page, and your interest in my MUSIC. I would love to hear some of your comments on any of the songs I have included on these two CD's. Maybe what you thought was the "best", and maybe what you thought was not the best! Be gentle and honest, I cry easy! Stay "in-tune" Ann also, check out www.oklahomasongwriters.com
